Youth Work Ireland Galway (Loughrea)

Who We Are

Youth Work Ireland Galway is a voluntary youth work organisation (registered as a charity) that provides developmental opportunities and support services for young people aged 10-25 years of age.

What We Do

The mission of Youth Work Ireland Galway is to support, empower and inspire young people to reach their full potential in a manner that is non-judgmental, welcoming and open in a safe and supportive environment by providing a range of services to diverse groups of young people.

How We Do It

We support volunteer led clubs and run staff led area based Youth Projects for 10-25 year olds, an LGBT+ Youth Project, a Youth Information Service, Garda Youth Diversion Projects, free Youth Counselling Servicíe for 12-21 year olds, international youth exchanges and in school programmes on drugs & alcohol, healthy relationships, internet safety, bullying/friendship, mindfulness and minding your mental health, transferring from primary to secondary school. Most of our activities happen after school in the evenings.Internet Safety. 10 – 12 Group. Teen Group Comhairle na nog Group. Soccer Group. New project starting for Syrian Families.

We co-ordinate Galway City and County Galway Comhairlí na nÓg (Youth Councils) on behalf of the local Councils.

Services are offered through group sessions and on an individual basis whichever is most appropriate.

Most services are free of charge or incur a very nominal charge.

Choosing A Strong Password

Chains of words, make passwords easy to remember and harder to crack.

 

To create a password that meets our strength requirements, it’s recommended to use a mix of at least three random words along with a number (not a birthday or 123 etc., just random) and one or more symbols and capitals, but don't capitalize the first letters of the words, e.g.:

  • mower-speaK5shadow
  • table?taPe748goNe.

This password style might not be very common, and it will be much more difficult for computers/bots to crack. It also allows for your passwords to be memorized more easily. Though a password vault may help with that.
