The Operation Transformation Virtual 5K

Operation Transformation

We are encouraging everyone that can to get out and walk or run the Operation Transformation virtual 5k.

It is vital we stay connected given the ongoing challenges we face with COVID-19, so  sharing the challenge of the virtual 5k with someone else is a simple, healthy way to engage with others.

People can run or walk the Virtual 5K from any location and it can be completed over a specified duration or on a specific day. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the 18th 19th and 20th of February.

Registration to take part in this event here: https://ot.rte.ie/events/the-operation-transformation-5k/

Ireland Reads Campaign

Ireland Reads

Part of the ‘Keep Well’ programme, Ireland Reads is a new campaign from Irish libraries aiming to get the whole country reading this month in the lead up to a national day of reading on Thursday, February 25th.

Taking some time to relax and do the things we enjoy has never been more important and reading is a great way to get a sense of escape and boost well-being. The campaign website is now live at www.irelandreads.ie

Choosing A Strong Password

Chains of words, make passwords easy to remember and harder to crack.

To create a password that meets our strength requirements, it’s recommended to use a mix of at least three random words along with a number (not a birthday or 123 etc., just random) and one or more symbols and capitals, but don't capitalize the first letters of the words, e.g.:

  • mower-speaK5shadow
  • table?taPe748goNe.

This password style might not be very common, and it will be much more difficult for computers/bots to crack. It also allows for your passwords to be memorized more easily. Though a password vault may help with that.
